CLIMATIC FEATURE OF BHOPAL DURING NOVEMBER                            

          By the month of November the post monsoon establishes itself and weather is generally fine with mainly clear or partly cloudy sky. The sultry weather of October is absent and nights are much cooler than October nights. Night temperatures happen to fall quite rapidly during the course of the month. Moist monsoon air is completely replaced by the dry northerly winds. Mornings are generally pleasant and comfortable. Nights from the second half are rather chilly. Surface winds are generally light and usually from northerly or northeasterly direction.

          The average monthly rainfall of this month is 14.7mms with one rainy day. Substantial rainfall usually occurs in this month in association with the passage of western disturbances moving eastwards across the northern parts of the country. On rare occasions there may be morning fog. The normal day and night temperatures ranges from 25.0°c to 33.0°c and 16.0°c to 10.0°c respectively.

          On the basis of the available records,  Bhopal experiences following extremes values :-

1)     The Highest Maximum Temperature of  35.2  °c   02.11.2002. 

2)     The  Lowest Minimum Temperature 6.1°c on 30th November 1941.

3)      The Highest Monthly Rainfall of 169.7 mms in the year 1927.

4)      The Heaviest fall in the 24 hours was 76.7 mms. on 23rd November 1912.

          The mean minimum temperature of the month and the lowest minimum temperature in degree Celcious with date during the last decade are indicated in the following table.

Surface winds are generally light and usually from northerly or northeasterly direction.

          The average monthly rainfall of this month is 22.1mms with one rainy day. Substantial rainfall usually occurs in this month in association with the passage of western disturbances moving eastwards across the northern parts of the country. On rare occasions there may be morning fog. The normal day and night temperatures ranges from 28.0°c to 30.0°c and 14.0°c to 11.0°c respectively.

          On the basis of the available records,  Indore experiences following extrem values:-  

1)     The Highest Maximum Temperature of 35.0°c on 5th November 1925.

2)     The Lowest Minimum Temperature 5.6°c on 25th November 1938.

3)     The Highest Monthly Rainfall of 217.4 mms in the year 1946.

4)     The Heaviest fall in the 24 hours was 82.6 mms. on 10th November 1969.
